Bengal Shopping Festival is a unique event initiated by the Government of West Bengal. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal will inaugurate the Festival at the Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan, Kolkata, on September 20, 2024. This festival aims to highlight the immense potential of West Bengal’s retail and commercial sectors, transforming Bengal into an international shopping destination. Running from September 20 to October 5, 2024, across various malls and markets in Kolkata, the festival is expected to significantly boost the local economy by increasing sales, attracting tourists and creating new employment opportunities. It will also serve as a vibrant precursor to Durga Puja, setting the stage for the grand celebrations ahead.

The Bengal Shopping Festival Expo, held from September 20 to 24, 2024, at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan, will feature a wide array of both international and national brands, as well as Bengal’s finest. The exhibition will showcase products like fashion items, electronics, automobiles, and leather goods, alongside Bengal’s traditional crafts, including textiles, jute products, and Geographical Indication (GI) products. Special focus will be on Khadi and handloom sectors, reflecting West Bengal’s unique artisanal heritage. This event will attract local industries, government bodies, multinational brands and start-ups, offering visitors the opportunity to explore, network and enjoy cultural performances and culinary delights.
